Conference of Directors of Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions (LKDK) is an association of 13 members (7 directors of state colleges and 6 directors of non-state colleges).
LKDK was established on 5 June 2002. The founding meeting was attended and the resolution to establish LKDK was signed by the Director of Vilnius University of Applied Sciences Dr. Gintautas Bražiūnas, the Director of Vilnius Cooperation University of Applied Sciences Jonas Jakubauskas, the Director of Kolpingas University of Applied Sciences Leticija Juraškienė, the Director of Alytus University of Applied Sciences Vytautas Lubauskas, the Director of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences Mindaugas Misiūnas, the Director of the Lithuanian University of Applied Seamanship Dr. Viktoras Senčila, Director of Klaipėda University of Applied Social Sciences Nijolė Skučienė, Director of Utena University of Applied Sciences Vida Stasiulionienė, Director of Klaipėda University of Applied Sciences Antanina Šereivienė, Director of Kaunas University of Applied Business Eugenija Vagnerienė, and Director of Marijampolė University of Applied Sciences Sigitas Valančius. The Constituent Assembly approved the Statutes of the Conference, the Regulations of the Secretariat, and the Governing Bodies. Dr. Gintautas Bražiūnas was elected as the President of the LKDK, Dr. Eugenija Vagnerienė as the Vice President, Mindaugas Misiūnas, Vida Stasiulionienė, Sigitas Valančius as the members of the Presidium, Vytautas Lubauskas as the auditor of LKDK. The Conference unanimously decided to join EURASHE (European Association of Institutions in Higher Education) and to actively participate in its activities.
21 June 2002 LKDK was registered as a public organization by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania V. Markevičius by his Order No 109-V.
